Fierce, loud, confident, terrifying, stunning, wild, persistent and a complete utter force of nature. That pretty much sums up toddler life. Never in our wildest dreams did we expect people so small to be so demanding, strong and powerful; dismantling each room as they storm through the house.
This little person comes tearing into the living with such vivacious energy as if they run the place. And although you tell them that they don’t, they pretty much do.
You cannot remove not one eyeball from them at the risk of them pulling some dare devil stunt. You are constantly on your toes and in a state of high alert. What are they going to pull out of the bag next?
But the funny thing about toddler life is that this is the most alive you will ever be. Constantly questioning what the day will bring with this unpredictable creature. One minute you’re laughing at the top of your lungs as they did something hilarious that you didn’t expect, and the next holding your breath until they are asleep at night. It is a journey that you didn’t expect toddlerhood would take you on.
They have the face of angel, and yet act in the complete opposite way. However, you are completely obsessed with them. Obsessed even on the days they draw on the walls or throw the remote control in the toilet.
Their life is true chaos and yet you wouldn’t have it any other way.
They are unable to sit still, constantly on the move, which makes you question, who are they on the run from?
And, in one day you hear mummy about one million times, and before you even have the chance to answer another mummy is coming out of their mouth.
So, to our little free spirited unpredictable toddlers, please continue to live your best lives. We love you to the moon and back.
