Juggling a Career whilst planning for a family, being pregnant, being in the postpartum period with a newborn or whilst having young children can be extremely challenging. You are physically and mentally pulled in multiple directions. There are days when you might feel overwhelmed, stressed or even feel inadequate.
The modern mother is constantly faced with the dilemma of what to prioritise in a day. If she is doing well in one area, then she is invariably struggling in another. It is a constant tug of war and can be exhausting.
This is an open letter to all the career mothers needing encouragement, whether it be to complete essays, pass exams or even to start their own business.
This is for the mothers out there who want to keep going but feel demotivated and want to give up. This is for those who were told that are not good enough, told they are not confident enough or told they do not speak up enough. This is for all those demoralised on their journey.
Below is the article ‘An Open Letter to all the Career Mums. Dear Career Mum, Please Don’t Give Up’.
Dear Career Mum,
Please don’t give up.
You may want to stop. Don’t stop. This was your dream, and although it is harder whilst being pregnant, postpartum with a newborn or with young children, you can do it.
You may have failed that exam multiple times, had difficult days at work or felt months of imposter syndrome, however, we are here to encourage you along this journey, to allow you to see that you are capable. Keep going. It will be hard, and the journey is always hard, but believe in yourself and know that you can achieve greatness.
You have already achieved so much in this life, and you did this despite multiple barriers in your way. Keep pushing. Keep going. Keep achieving. Failure may come, but what matters more is how you pick yourself up afterwards; and you will pick yourself up because you are strong.
We know the sacrifices that you have made, whether they were studying after putting your baby to bed, preparing meals over the weekend, or waking up earlier to squeeze extra time into your day.
Everything you are doing is for the long-term benefit of your child. And, one day they will look back at how they were raised and be in awe of how you did it all.
Dear mama, you should be extremely proud of yourself, continue to be strong, continue to be brave, continue to be fierce, and remember, you can do anything that you set your mind to.
We hope that you have enjoyed this article ‘An Open Letter to all the Career Mums. Dear Career Mum, Please Don’t Give Up’. And remember, we are supporting you from behind the scenes.
